Clerk I
  • Salary:  $10.84 - $15.43 
  • Hours:  19.5 hours/week
  • Working Relationships: Reports to Assistant Director
  • ABLE certificate completed within one year of employment
  • Education: High School Diploma

Qualifications: 
  • Computer literacy
  • Office and telephone skills
  • Basic money skills
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Able to multitask
  • Able to work evenings and weekends

Duties:
  • Provides library customer service and assistance
  • Circulates library materials
  • Collects and records fines
  • Waives fines as directed
  • Uses library’s resources to assist users and problem solve as necessary
  • Issues/renews/creates library cards and files card applications
  • Shelves materials 
  • Monitors the automated computing system 
  • Teaches patrons to use library resources
  • Assists patrons with computer problems as appropriate
  • Collects money for patron fines/fees
  • Empties the book drop throughout the work day
  • Answers the phone and takes messages as necessary
  • Manages holds and patrons requests
  • Provides basic reference services to library users
  • Staffing outreach programs as scheduled
  • Assists with programming
  • Completes opening and closing procedures as appropriate
  • Collection management in a nonfiction subject
  • Selecting materials
  • Weeding materials
  • Shelf reading and organizing materials
  • Special projects as assigned

Wed 9am - 7pm
Thur 9am - 7pm
Fri 9am - 7pm
Sat 10am - 6pm
