SMS Privacy Statement


When a patron registers for a library card at the Portneuf District Library, staff will collect their name, address, email, and phone number via a paper form. The purpose for collecting this information is so that it is easier for the library to contact the patron for the following reasons:
  • Items the patron placed on hold are ready to be picked up
  • Items checked out by the patron have automatically renewed
  • Items checked out by the patron are due
  • Reminders of lost or overdue materials 
The Portneuf District Library will not share or sell your contact information with any third parties or for marketing purposes.

To opt-out of receiving notifications from the library you may do any of the following:
  • Change your text message settings on the library website portneuflibrary.org  (click the My Library Account link and sign-in, then click “Personal Details” in the left column, then scroll down to “Additional Information” to change your text message settings.)
    • Instructions and screenshots of SMS notification management through your online library account. 
  • Call the library during business hours at: 208-237-2192

  • Reply STOP to any text message from the library. (Only affects text messages, to opt out of email, please call the library or log-in to your account.)
